Our team is known for advanced custom work, including neckline redesigns, custom sleeves, custom boleros, structural modifications, and refined detailing.

Alterations are completed at our Hoover location, where we welcome brides who purchased their gown at Bella’s Bridal or elsewhere. Opelika brides are always invited to schedule their fittings with our in-house alterations team to ensure the same trusted craftsmanship and consistency.

DO YOU ALTER WEDDING DRESSES AND FORMAL GOWNS PURCHASED ELSEWHERE?
Bella’s Bridal and Formal offers alterations services for wedding and prom dresses. We offer alterations services for dresses purchased from other stores or online vendors.
WHEN SHOULD I SCHEDULE MY FIRST FITTING?

We recommend that you schedule your first fitting 6 to 8 weeks before your wedding. Please schedule your appointment as soon as possible as these appointments fill up quickly.

WHAT IS THE COST OF ALTERATIONS AND WHEN IS PAYMENT DUE?

The price of alterations varies depending on what needs to be done and the complexity of the job. We will give you a quote at your first fitting before we begin the work. Alterations are paid in full when alterations are completed and the dress is picked up from the store.

HOW MANY FITTINGS WILL THERE BE?

The number of fittings is dependent on the amount of work that is required to alter your gown. The average dress is completed in three fittings.

WHAT SHOULD I BRING TO MY FIRST FITTING?

When coming to your scheduled fitting appointment be sure to bring the shoes and undergarments (bra/corset) that you will be wearing on your wedding day. Our wedding dresses are high-quality, many of them have built-in bras and slips. Many of our brides choose not to wear a bra under their wedding dress and some opt to have cups sewn in. We have the cups available and will decide at your first fitting.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT AT THE FIRST FITTING?

Typically, the first fitting takes about one hour. Our seamstress will pin your dress where needed so you can get an idea of the finished product. We’ll discuss your options and establish a plan to fulfill the vision for your dress.

WHEN IS THE SECOND FITTING?

The second fitting is generally 2-3 weeks after your first appointment. Once you begin your alterations process, you will then schedule your future appointment through your seamstress.

WHAT DO I DO WITH MY WEDDING DRESS AFTER THE WEDDING?

We offer an excellent wedding dress cleaning and preservation service for dresses purchased from Bella’s Bridal and Formal.
